NORTH EAST AUCKLAND
Lydia Green
Kai Ora, my name is Lydia and I’m AWSA’s Auckland NE Coast Rep. I’ve always had a strong connection to the ocean and began surfing as another way to enjoy and interact with the marine environment.
I soon realised that the act of surfing was an excellent pathway to connect others to the ocean and took this a step further by founding Saltwater Eco Ltd. Being 100% female owned, coupled with our holistic approach to teaching surfing, we soon evolved to have a strong ladies surf focus and following. Which we then expanded into monthly ladies only surf events as well as setting up Salty Sisters Surf Club, an Auckland based social platform for ladies to connect and surf together.
I’m passionate about creating safe and nurturing environments for women of all ages and abilities to surf their own surf. I am excited to help facilitate connection and community, to build on what we have achieved locally and spread the good vibes regionally and nationally.
Lets go surfing!
